Renting Out Your Vacation Home? 3 Unique Features You Should Offer

It's always a good thing to have a home away from home, but when you have a vacation property, it can be tricky to know how to make your house stand out from other listings in the area. Fortunately, by incorporating a few things, you can create a major draw, especially for families. Here are three unique things you should offer in your vacation rental

1. A Laundry Room With Detergent and a Spot Remover

When people travel, they only have a set amount of clothes with them. While folks can always purchase new items on the go, it can be tricky to haul everything home, which is why it pays to offer the use of your laundry room.

If you are offering the use of the washer and dryer, make sure to include any laundry products someone might need, such as laundry detergent, spot remover, and dye-free versions of each for white clothes. When you advertise the property, make sure to state that a stay comes with a "fully stocked laundry room," so people won't have to pack as much to begin with.

2. A Great Home Security System

It's always comforting to feel like you are safe, but this is especially true when you are in a new place in unfamiliar territory. Having a great security system on hand can give the people you host a way to know that they are safe.

When you invest in a security system, try to avoid systems with lots of indoor cameras, as these may make people wonder if they are being watched in the property. Instead, be very transparent about where cameras are and how to access footage, so your guests can enjoy the safety and serenity they want.

3. Multiple Bicycles

You never know when you will host people who want to hop on a bike, and hit the nearest trail, and get outside. Always keep multiple bicycles in the garage that would fit people of different statures, so they can use the bicycles as they please.

Make sure to keep a bicycle pump handy, extra tubes, and water bottles that fit inside the bikes so that people get out and enjoy the scenery around your rental property.

By taking the time to make sure your listing is as promising as it can be, you can prevent letting your rental sit on the market, and generate a promising flow of passive income.
