Are You Planning A Thanksgiving Family Reunion?

Did you and your extended family members decide that, rather than meeting at somebody's home, you'd have a destination Thanksgiving family reunion? If so, you are all probably both very excited and also busy with your plans. After all, Thanksgiving is just in a very few weeks. Do you have all of your plans made already? If so, you are all set and ready to pack your bags, right?

On the other hand, maybe you are still looking for ideas for your Thanksgiving family reunion. If so, from arranging for a vacation rental to planning activities for the Thanksgiving weekend, here are some ideas that might help you.

Vacation Rentals - Of course, you could all stay at the same hotel, and then you'd even have maid service. However, have you considered arranging for a vacation rental instead? Have you ever done that before? If so, you already know how convenient it is to stay in a house where you can all be together while having your own bedrooms. Plus, you can save some important money by preparing your meals right in your vacation home. And, with all of you sharing the expense of the rental home, it will probably end up being less than paying for individual hotel rooms.

When you talk to the rental company agent, be sure to tell him or her how many bedrooms you'll need. If there will be children in the group, find out if there are futons or sofa beds so you'll have extra sleeping space. You more than likely won't have to bring anything except yourselves and any personal items you'll need. For example, the rental property will probably have all the bed linens, towels, and all the kitchenware you'll need.

Plan The Activities - Of course, the focal point of your family reunion will be having Thanksgiving dinner together, won't it? You'll want to do more than cook and eat, no matter how wonderful that is. First of all, the vacation rental will probably have DVDs and board games tucked away in a closet. Find that out ahead of time so you can bring your own games and movies if they aren't available.

Is your rental close to a town? If so, allow plenty of time for sightseeing and going to places like gift shops and art galleries. If you'll be at the rental on Sunday, think of attending church services together. That might be one of the highlights of your Thanksgiving family reunion.
